Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Wiki

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? is a quiz/party game developed by Hothouse Creations and published by Eidos Interactive beginning in September 2000 in the United Kingdom and France, and expanded to many other countries internationally.

About[]

Much like the game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? is a trivia game where players must answer 15 questions correctly in order to reach the virtual jackpot. The original three lifelines - 50:50, Phone-a-Friend, and Ask the Audience appear as well.

Out of the 13 countries who received the game, 7 with Chris Tarrant (UK), Gay Byrne (Ireland), Jean-Pierre Foucault (France), Gerry Scotti(Italy), Lasse Lehtinen(Finland), Frithjof Wilborn(Norway) and Monta Mino(Japan) had their respected hosts narrate over the game, guiding players along the way, with all 7 having an image of themselves on the back of the cover art of the game.

Release[]

The original UK version of the game was released on September 29, 2000. The French version was released on the same day as well. These were the only countries to receive the game on the Dreamcast in addition to the PlayStation and Windows. Alternate English versions were also released for Ireland and Australia.

A majority of the International releases were released throughout 2001.

The Japanese version was released on December 20, 2001.

The German version is the only one to have released a third edition and a fourth edition (only on PC for the second), as well as the only one to have both an Junior edition and a Sports edition(only on PC for the Sports).

The GBA version of the French version was released on 14 Novembe 2002.
