Vrei să fii milionar? (English translation: Do you want to be a millionaire?) is a Romanian game show based on the original British format of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, produced by Zucchero Media. The show first aired on Kanal D from August 24th, 2011 to November 29th, 2012 for three seasons, with a total of 119 episodes. A new season was later broadcast on Prima TV from March 22nd, 2014 to June 15th, 2014, running for 26 episodes. The show on both channels were hosted by Virgil Ianțu.
In 2018, Vrei să fii milionar? was revived on Kanal D, with a new season debuting on November 5th, 2018. It ran until July 22nd, 2019, with a total of 25 episodes. Teo Trandafir hosted the 2018-2019 series.
Between December 4th, 2011 and July 29th, 2012, Prime TV broadcast the Moldovan version of the show, also called Vrei să fii milionar?. A single season was produced by ICS Media Production in cooperation with Zucchero Media. This version was hosted by Dan Negru.
Lifelines[]
Both the Romanian and the Moldovan versions had three lifelines:
- 50:50 (50 la 50 in Moldova)
- Ask the Audience (Întreabă publicul)
- Phone-A-Friend (Sună un prieten)
In Romania, an extra lifeline was available after a contestant reached the 15.000 lei milestone:

Vrei să fii miliardar?[]
The first Romanian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? was named Vrei să fii miliardar? (English translation: Do you want to be a billionaire?) and was produced by Creative Vision International and broadcast on Prima TV from September 8th, 2000 to July 1st, 2003, running for five seasons, with a total of 386 episodes. The top prize was 1.000.000.000 old lei (100.000 new lei). Virgil Ianțu hosted this version.
