Vem vill bli miljonär? was the first of the two Swedish versions of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. Launched in a blaze of publicity on 21 January 2000, it was aired until 2003 on TV4. The top prize was 10 000 000 Kr - about £713,000 ($1,117,520), the third-largest prize in Europe after the Irish and British versions. It was eventually lowered to 3 000 000 Kr ($317,670).
The show was hosted by journalist Bengt Magnusson. It was axed in June 2003, but eventually relaunched as Postkodmiljonären with lottery sponsorship and a lower cash prize.

- Despite its eventual swift axing, the show was a huge hit in Sweden: during the show's first year, on average 3 million viewers tuned in per episode, just over a third of the Swedish population at the time.
- Sweden remains the only country in which the local version of Millionaire had its first two contestants both win absolutely nothing.
- Unlike its successor Postkodmiljonären, there were no top prize winners in Vem vill bli miljonär.
- Also unlike its successor Postkodmiljonären, Vem Vill Bli Miljonar had two video games release, an game on the Playstation 1 (Which used the 1st Money tree) and an game on the DVD(Which used the 2nd Money Tree).
