Trevor Sauer, a doctor from Cashmere, Queensland, appeared on Australia's Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? on August 28 & September 4, 2000 and won AU$500,000, breaking Englishman Paddy Spooner's record as the show's biggest winner.
He then appeared on the show again on 14 February 2005 with cricketing legend Shane Warne on a "Celebrity Roulette" edition of Millionaire. He won another $500,000, but this time all the money was donated to charity.
According to the show's website, Trevor has no regrets about not winning the million, and planned to spend the money on a holiday with his wife and invest in a bush hideaway.
