The highest possible loss is £499,000, if the player loses the million without setting their second safety net. However as there is no reason why a contestant wouldn't set their safety net at 500k before hearing the MDQ, the highest possible loss that could reasonably happen is £498,000 if the safety net was set at £2000.

Trivia[]
- In Episode 1, on Stephen Fry's 8th question, the Phone-a-Friend interlude was accidentally played instead of the Ask The Audience interlude.
- Also in Episode 1, Stephen Fry became the joint second highest winning celebrity (alongside David Baddiel & Frank Skinner who won £250,000 in December 2001, and Gloria Hunniford and Frederick Forsyth in 2005) in the UK version (second only to Laurence and Jackie Llewelyn Bowen, who won £500,000 in 2006), and the highest winning solo celebrity contestant, winning £250,000.
- Stephen Fry also became the ninth contestant to set their safety net at £125,000, the first celebrity to do so, and the third overall to pass it.
- In Episode 2, Fred Sirieix used 50:50 on his first question.
- Also Episode 2, Jeremy used the "hint system" for the first time since 1998, this was used again the following episode.
- In this series, the contestant graphics at Fastest Finger First have slightly changed to be more resemblant of the second style of Olga graphics used in countries such as Uruguay, Costa Rica, Nigeria, Poland and Hungary.
- Jack Soley, who appeared on the eighth episode, is a regular editor of this wiki, and has a YouTube channel called "Pomerakchild", where he often posts WWTBAM content.
- In the ninth episode of the series, Matthew Tranter became the tenth contestant to set the safety net at £125,000.
- In the twelfth episode, Nicholas Bennett became the first ever Top Prize Loser in the show in this season, for real this time. But back then, Laurence and Jackie Llewelyn Bowen's final question, was however flawed.
- Bennett also became the eleventh contestant to set the safety net at £125,000 and the fourth one to pass it.
- He also became the first ever contestant in UK history to answer 13 questions in a row without using a lifeline.
