The thirty-eighth series of the British version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? began airing from 10 June 2022.
This series, filmed in February 2022, is the first since Series 34 to have a studio audience, bringing back the Ask the Audience lifeline to replace the second Phone-a-Friend. Furthermore, the first five civilian contestants in the series were the first to fast-track their way into the Hot Seat by winning the new qualification show, Fastest Finger First.

Trivia[]
- The episode aired on 10 September 2022 was aired without adverts due to the passing of Elizabeth II, and also had a phone-in competition removed out of respect (though it remained in the subtitles).
- The final four episodes were shown from 3 November 2024 to 29 December 2024. Perspex glasses between contestants could be seen; also “©2022” in the credits.
- On the episode aired on 24 November 2024, one question asked: "Which of these is the only person to have been a regular judge on both 'Strictly Come Dancing' and 'Britain’s Got Talent'?" with possible answers: Amanda Holden, Bruno Tonioli, Darcey Bussell and Alesha Dixon. The correct answer was Alesha Dixon, however Bruno Tonioli joined BGT in the time between recording and broadcast, thus by the time it went out both answers were correct. The continuity announcer on the night reminded viewers that questions were correct at time of filming.
