Preeti Anand Asthana was a participant in the first season of KBC. She was born and brought up in Hazaribagh, then Bihar, and lives in Agra, Uttar Pradesh now. A Masters degree holder in Botany, She teaches young children in her spare time, and is one of the senior members of Uttar Pradesh Lekhika Manch, Agra, an organisation dedicated to providing a platform for women's voices in literature.
Always a bright student, her intelligence found national recognition in the TV show when she became one of the first female contestants to reach till the final segment of the show, and take home a prize amount of Rs. 6,40,000.
