Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Wiki

Postkodmiljonären (English translation: "The postcode millionaire" - a portmanteau of Postkodlotteriet and miljonär) is the second Swedish version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. Premiered on 26 August 2005 on TV4, it has aired on Fridays and Saturdays at 19:30 since its first episode. Hosted by Rickard Sjöberg, the top prize is 1 000 000 kronor (increased to 5 000 000 kronor for one episode in 2011).

Fastest Finger First was played on this version from 2005 until 2010; since Autumn 2010, it was removal and Rickard will invites contestants to play one by one. This version is financed by the Swedish Postcode Lottery, as is common with game shows in Sweden, and often breaks for films showcasing the lottery funding good causes.

Lifelines[]

Like in Germany, since 2008 the contestant has had the option to play the classic version with three lifelines, or a risk version, which eschews the second safety net for Switch the Question as an additional lifeline. Ask the Audience was removed in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions and did not return after the pandemic.

  • 50:50 (femtio-femtio)
  • Phone-A-Friend (ring en vän)
  • Ask the Star (Fråga stjärnorna) (22 August 2020 – present).
  • Switch the Question (byta fråga) - in risk format only (29 August 2008 – present). In the 500th episode, the contestants received this lifeline after reaching the 2nd milestone (as the game was not in risk).

Former Lifelines[]

  • Ask the Millionaires (hjälp av de tidigare miljonvinnarna) (in 500th episode only). This was a special lifeline used for one jubilee episode in 2011. The contestant can ask for help from the any (at that time there were four) of Top Prize winners.
  • Ask the Audience (fråga publiken) (until 2 May 2020).
