Milionár (English translation: Millionaire) was the Slovak version based on the original British Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. Aired from 2000 to 2006 on TV Markíza and from April 12, 2007 to March 26, 2008 on Jednotka. Hosted by Martin Nikodým and Iveta Malachovská. Top prizes were 1 000 000, 5 000 000 and 10 000 000 Slovak korunas.
Filming[]
Filming of the show takes place in Bratislava. The episodes from 2000 to 2006 were recorded in BKPŠ studios near Istrochem. The episodes from 2007 to 2008 were recorded in Mlynská Dolina (Studio 4 STV) where the studio design resembles the original British studio.

- Phone-A-Friend (priateľ na telefóne)
- Ask the Audience (pomoc publika)
- Switch the Question (výmena otázky) (2007-2008) - after 5th question.

- In 2016, there was an announcement that in few years, Milionár might actually return on TV Markíza.
Competitions for viewers[]
Telephone Game[]
The show featured a special telephone game which ran between January 16, 2006 & October 4, 2006, where viewers had to phone in and to answer questions.
The telephone number was 0988 200 555. Phone charges were via BT Landline at a cost of 18 Sk with VAT for up to one minute.
Tonight's Viewer Question[]
From January 16, 2006, the show featured a competition game called "Tonight's Viewer Question". The competition offered viewers at home to play the game where they had to answer a four-choice question similar to those in the main game, either via SMS or BT Landline. The competition ran through most of the programme, after which the answer was revealed and the programme ended. A random viewer who answered the question correctly would then win 5,000 Sk.
The SMS numbers were 7018 from January 16, 2006 until October 4, 2006 and 7770 from April 12, 2007 until March 26, 2008. Entries costed a maximum flat rate of 12 Sk with VAT.
Children specials[]
In the history of the show, special children's episodes were also aired. Instead of cash winnings, children's contestants earned prize packages. The prizes were different. The more correct answers, the steeper the prize.
