Mike Bordin, the drummer and founder of the band Faith No More from San Francisco, California, appeared on the U.S. version of the show on January 21, 2001 and won $1,000 after incorrectly answering his $32,000 question. Mike appeared on the show when the jackpot was raised to $1,810,000. He did not use his “50:50“ or “Phone-a-Friend“ lifelines.
Although a famous artist, he was not on one of the celebrity editions and appeared on the show with regular contestants. Unusually, he and his wife both qualified to the show and were placed in consecutive episodes; his wife Merilee Bordin played before him, carrying over from the preceding episode, with Mike behind her in the Fastest Finger seats for most of her run.

Trivia[]
Mike is notable not only for being famous in his own right whilst playing as a civilian, but for his wife being the preceding contestant before him and being behind her in Fastest Finger seats when she returned from the previous episode to complete her run.
Both Mike and his wife Merilee Bordin left with $1,000, both giving the wrong answer on the $32,000 question.
