Mark Andrew Labbett, a supply teacher from Newport, was a contestant on series 19 of the UK version of the show on 8 & 29 April, 2006. He had made an unsuccessful attempt at getting in 5 months before on 5 November 2005, which was the same episode where Charles Dickson also failed his attempt at getting in. When he did eventually get in he walked away with £32,000 after incorrectly answering his £64,000 question.
He is best known for his role as the "Beast" on the ITV game show The Chase in the UK since 2009 (the first Chaser) and as well as the American version from 2013-2015 and the Australian version from 2016-2020 and since 2022, then in the American version again in 2021.
