She walked away with $32,000 for her charity, Cassidy's Place after missing her $64,000 question, thanks to a bad Phone-a-Friend answer from her show's producer, Michael Gelman.

Kathie Lee was one of just two celebrity contestants to also serve as a Phone a Friend (with Rosie O'Donnell being the other). Unlike Rosie, Kathie Lee was called upon to help another celebrity. In January, 2002, she was called upon by the former Olympian then known as Bruce Jenner, to assist with the $64,000 question. The only other contestant-turned Phone a Friend to help a celebrity was Joe Trela, who was called by Queen Latifah on her $500,000 question later in the first celebrity series.
