Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Wiki

Josiane Balasko (an actress, writer and director) and Martin Lamotte (an actor and comedian) appeared as celebrity contestants on season 4 of the French version of the show on February 27, 2004.

They became the first celebrity contestants in France to incorrectly answer the 300 000 € question, thus losing 102 000 € and walking away with only 48 000 €, which was split between their chosen charities, Vaincre la Mucoviscidose and Mucoviscidose ABCF Necker.

Overall, they are the second known contestants of any kind to lose at this stage, after Evelyne in 2002.

Josiane and Martin's loss would not be repeated until four years later, when Lambert Wilson and Nolwenn Leroy missed their respective 300 000 € question, on May 12, 2008.

Josiane had already appeared on the show before, partnered alongside Thierry Lhermitte on the first celebrity special in September 2001, becoming the first ever celebrity couple to win 150 000 €.

Martin would return as a contestant, partnered with Patrice Leconte, on July 4, 2009, winning another 48 000 € after answering question 8 incorrectly. Josiane would return alongside Jack Lang on March 29, 2005, winning 72 000 €.
