John Simmons, an overnight hotel clerk from Longview, Texas, was a contestant who appeared on the U.S. version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? on December 17, 2000 & January 4, 2001. John won $32,000 after missing his $64,000 question. He was also the first contestant to play for the mega bonus. He played for $1,710,000.
