John McKenna appeared as a contestant on the third episode of Series 38 of the British version of the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? on 10 September 2022. He was the fourth contestant to be fast-tracked onto the show via winning the daytime spin-off Fastest Finger First. He became the first civilian contestant with Jeremy Clarkson as host to walk away empty-handed.

He was also the only winner of Fastest Finger First to win absolutely nothing on the main show.

Apparently, neither the question writers, nor the contestant, nor did much of the audience, seemed to know the difference between a Spanish tortilla, which is an omelette, and a Mexican tortilla, which is a flatbread wrap used for making tacos and burritos; the latter is more well known, but since this question was asking for the former, the contestant, and much of the audience, got it wrong, causing the contestant to go home with nothing at all.
