Jevgeni Nurmla (born May 16, 1959 Tartu, ESSR) appeared as a contestant on the second season of Kes tahab saada miljonäriks?, the Estonian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, on 14 March 2004. He became the first 500 000 EEK winner.

He used his 500 000 Kr to buy a new car and do repairs on his home.

Trivia[]

  • Nurmla did suggest with regards to the show losing viewers that it was due to less tension than in other versions, suggesting that in Germany, for example, where 500 000 Kr is merely just under €32,000, that there is more drama with the much higher €500,000, meaning that the tension is much higher, and risks have more implications.
  • He had called many times to get onto the show before, and in an interview complained that many contestants had gotten onto the show by making much fewer calls than he did.
