Janos Pigerl, a 29-year-old student from Cologne, appeared as a contestant on the Gamblers' Special of Series 22 of Wer wird Millionär?, the German version of the show, on 11 January 2021. He won €1,000 after missing his 14th question for €750,000, losing €249,000.
As nobody has answered the million-Euro question incorrectly outside of a gimmick in 2014 that sent €16,000 winners straight to the million-Euro question, Janos holds the unwanted record of the most money lost on Wer wird Millionär?.
He appeared again on the 1,500th episode special on 3 June 2021 and walked away with €133,333.
