Gerry Brinn, from Victoria, was a contestant on the Australian Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? on 20 November, 2000. He walked away in the 10th question and won AU$16,000.
He though the answer could be A or B, and he wanted to use "50:50" lifeline just to be sure, but unfortunately, A and B are the 2 remaining answers. He decided to ask for help from his Phone-A-Friend, Tam - who was pretty sure it was B: East Germany. But he wasn't sure about his Phone-A-Friend's advice, so he decided to burn his last lifeline - "Ask the Audience" - amusingly, 5% voted for an answer already eliminated by 50:50 here. He decided to go with his Phone-A-Friend and 82% of the audiences and won $16,000.

Which words appear on the front of the Victoria Cross?
⬥ A: For Bravery
⬥ B: In Gratitude
⬥ C: For Valour
⬥ D: For Heroism
Gerry though it's was A or C at first, but after that, he thought it was A. But he wasn't 100% sure and he wasn't "brave" enough to risk $15,000, so he decided to walk away with $16,000. He would have guessed A, but the correct answer was C.
