Gerhard Krammer, from Ensdorf, appeared as a contestant on Series 4 of Wer wird Millionär?, the German version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, on 18 October 2002. He became the first million-euro top prize winner, and the third Wer wird Millionär? top prize winner overall.
His top prize win was the most valuable win on the German version until Nadja Sidikjar's €1,538,450 win in November 2015.

Host Günther Jauch was suprised to see that Gerhard still risked it, even though he wasn't 100% sure. When Jauch tried to make it clear what's at stake, Gerhard said that it's abstract because he doesn't own any amount he played for yet and sees this just as a Game, to which Jauch jokingly asked if he is insane.
