Diane Hallagan, an assistant Financial Controller from Leeds from West Yorkshire, was a contestant on a Women Only show on 13November 2001. She walked away with £250,000, and became the fourth person on the show after Martin Skillings, Ben Bartle, and Gerry Lennon to get up to £125,000 and have all 3 lifelines, and was the first and only woman to do so.

Later, she was in the audience when her friend Barry Simmons played on February 5, 2005.

Diane thought she knew but again was not prepared to play without further conformation, so she Phoned A Friend and called Mike who had no idea. Her instinct was Skye but she wasn't prepared to gamble it on an instinct so she took the money. The correct answer was indeed D: Skye.

This was not her first appearance on a quiz show as she had been on the Channel 5 quiz show 100% Gold in 1998, winning 8 shows and then becoming Champion of Champions. After her Millionaire appearance she appeared on a National Lottery quiz show called 'Come And Have A Go If You Think You're Smart Enough' in 2004 with 3 other past and future Millionaire contestants who are Darren Martin, Barry Simmons and Mark Kerr, sharing prize money of £40,052. In 2008 she went on the show 'Are You An Egghead?' trying to become an Egghead unsuccessfully. In 2005 she got to the semi-final of Mastermind and in 2011 and 2015 she made the final, becoming one of only 6 people, and the only woman, to compete in 2 Grand Finals. She was also the only woman to win on the Sky Atlantic show Cleverdicks, winning 4 shows and £2,000.

She is also one of only 3 people, and the only woman, to win the top prize of a Jaguar X-type car on the roadshow version of Who wants to be a Millionaire, the other 2 players to do so being Kevin Ashman and Alan Gibbs.
