Crystal Ball is a rare lifeline in the Millionaire franchise. It was only used on the Shuffle Format of the U.S. version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, available on certain weeks, such as the Halloween Week on October 29, 2012 to November 2, 2012.
The contestant can only use the Crystal Ball once, on a question with an unknown value. As such, it cannot be used on the Classic Millionaire round, as well as the tenth question (where only one possible question value would remain).
When a contestant uses it, the question value will be revealed and shown to the contestant, on the big screen and on the monitor. This amount will still be added to the contestant's bank if the contestant answers the question correctly; jumping the question would not add the amount to the contestant's bank. The contestant is not forced to answer the question, and may instead use another lifeline such as Jump the Question or walk away.
