Aftermath[]
Host Eddie McGuire mentioned that the rules of Millionaire Hot Seat was much more painful than the original Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? as the contestant could not walk away at any point and if they answered the final question incorrectly at the maximum top prize, they lost $999,000 and only won $1,000; while in the original version contestant could see the final question and decided to walk away with $500,000, and giving an incorrect answer still awarded $32,000.
For this occasion, Barry was awarded a 2-week trip to Hawaii from Jetstar and $5,000 cash as a consolation prize for being the first top prize loser in Millionaire Hot Seat. This happened right after Barry had seen his own performance on television and was broadcasted live.
Trivia[]
