Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Wiki

Barande Bash (Persian: مسابقه بزرگ برنده باش, "Win a great race" or "Be a winner" in English) is the Iranian (Persian, Farsi) version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. Premiered on August 19, 2018 on Irani TV channel. Hosted by Mohammad Reza Golzar. Top prize is (in episodes 1-7 - 2,000,000,000 IRR and in episodes 8-41 - 200,000,000 points) 100,000,000 points. Even though it's an unlicensed version, it still uses the original Millionaire soundtrack, and it uses multiple elements from the UK 2018 revival.

It is one of few versions of Millionaire with no FFF. The host calls the name of the contestant, after which the hot seat with the player rises up from the floor. Four contestants appear in every episode (later raised to five contestants).

In April 2019, the show was axed due to contravening Iranian laws prohibiting the broadcast of game shows for money, along with its questionable entry method. At the end of the show, the top prize was the lowest in comparison to other licensed versions of Millionaire, worth less than US$2,500 due to volatile Iranian currency.

Lifelines[]

In this classic version, three lifelines are used:

Seasons[]

  • Season 1 (70 episodes, August 19, 2018 - April 19, 2019)

Money Tree[]

Due to the volatility of the Iranian rial, the show's money tree is in points (except for the 2 billion rial money tree), which are converted to real Iranian rials after the player ends the game and gets the money.
