Ask the Nation is rare lifeline and a variation on Ask the Audience which polled the online Audience instead of the studio Audience, not unlike the AOL online poll used on syndicated Millionaire in the USA. The prime difference was that only the online Audience was polled.

Ask the Nation (UK)
For the first time, in the 300th live episode of the British version of the show, after the player has decided to use the Ask the Audience lifeline, the host addresses the home audience with a request to vote for a particular answer, calling the phone number for each of them. Then the studio audience votes as usual, the presenter is shown those results, and later the results of the TV viewers.
In 2008, in Norway, Ask the Audience also turned into Ask the Nation. The participant in the studio gets to know what the viewers at home have answered on their PCs. The TV viewers thus play a very active role in the show.
