Alfredo Hamill, a 60-year-old Italian-American English lecturer, appeared as a contestant on Series 12 of Chi vuol essere milionario?, the Italian version of the show, on 7 and 8 October 2010. He won €150,000.
Born in Baltimore to American and Italian parents, his wife did not accompany him to the show out of fear of being starstruck by host Gerry Scotti, on whom she had a crush.
