This was the eleventh season, and also as the shortest season of Ai Là Triệu Phú. In this season, the Fastest Finger First round has been removed, contestants are now invited to the studio.
It was the final season using the 2014 blue graphics, and the final season with Phan Đăng as host. According to a news report, VTV3 stated that many gameshows were having big changes, and Ai Là Triệu Phú would be no exception. It was also said that the show would increase the money tree and use new graphics at some point in the later seasons.[1]

For the first 7 episodes (from May 5, 2020, to June 16, 2020), there are two new lifeline replacements for the two classis ones when the audience was absent in the studio due to the COVID-19 outbreak. They were still in use towards the end of the season even after the audience was allowed to watch the show live. They are:

- Two Wise Men (Hỏi ý kiến những nhà thông thái) (After 5th question)

Trivia[]
- From May 5, 2020 to June 16, 2020, there was no audience in the studio to prevent further spreading of the novel coronavirus. Most contestants invited to the studio were celebrities (such as singer, actor, TV host, comedian,...). Because of that, Ask the Audience and Ask Three of the Audience were temporarily retired (now permanently) and replaced with two new lifelines: Plus One and Ask two Experts. Later when the audience returned, they were still used.
- Before the trailer of new lifelines was shown, director Nguyễn Diệp Chi posted on her Facebook personal page about the episodes taped during the COVID-19 outbreak, and the audience should suggest a substitued lifeline (other than Ask two Experts which was confirmed). One person commented that the show should bring Switch the Question lifeline into the show, while another person suggested Ask the Host. Some even suggested adding Ask the Nation lifeline, according to the Thanh Nien newspaper.[2]
- Since June 23, 2020, the commercial in-out intro was changed, using the end part of the intro used in this season, like in various countries that have adopted the Olga van den Brandt graphics.[3]
