¿Quién quiere ser millonario? was the Ecuadoran version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. Aired from November 21, 2001 to January–February 1, 2004 and from 2009 to 2011 on Ecuavisa, the programme was hosted by Alfonso Espinosa de los Monteros.

At the beginning of the 2003-2004 season, in September 2003, special guests the ex-participants of the Gran Hermano Ecuador (Big Brother Ecuador) show, among them: Sofía Gómez, Wendy Sánchez, Marco Beltrán, Vladimir Oña, Mónica Vela, Lorena Zerpa, Karina Romo and Jaime Andrés Sempértegui appeared.
On September 28, 2003, special episode aired. National artists Martín Galarza, Jordana Doylet, Tanya López, Enrique Vargas, Daniel Jácome, Luzmila Nicolaide, Pepe Parra and María Teresa Guerrero appeared. In total, $9,000 donated to NIÑO ESPERANZA, the Ecuavisa and UNICEF project.

- From November 2001 to March 17, 2002, $91,600 was won. As of December 23, 2003, over 100 contestants appeared and $123,000 were won.
- On September 2002, contestant Vicente Vallejo save all three lifelines to 13th question. However, with the attempt to "Phone-a-Friend" lifeline, two of his phone a friends were unavailable, and then 70% voted for the wrong answer, 26% voted for the right one, and 4% voted for the blank one from the 50:50 lifeline. The contestant did not trust the audience and took $10,000, but, he had gone his guess, he would’ve won $15,000.
- In 2003, contestants Gabriela Villalva and ? used both 50:50 and Ask the Audience on 11th question. 79% voted for the wrong answer and 21% were right. That’s 2% closer from Gill O'Donnell's £20,000 question and Oli Blake's £250,000 question.
